The directors of StarLogixs, Mark & Deanne Trethewey have been involved with 2CBD Community Radio for 10 years.
Over that period Mark has been involved with the technical work setting up both the Deepwater and Glen Innes sites, drawing on his experience as an Electrical Engineer and using the resources in StaLogixs, which is an electronics manufacturing company.
Some years ago the Deepwater site, started running computerized playlists to fill gaps between presenters. Playlists would run fully unattended, and it was not long before it became apparent that this could be problematic.
Deepwater is a small community, and often on weekends and holiday periods there would not be anyone available to restart the computer system, if something caused it to stop.
To solve this problem an automatic switch was devised which monitored the audio feed from the computer, and automatically switched over to the CBAA satellite if something caused the computer to stop. This unit has now been in service for several years, and has been very successful.
StarLogixs has now decided to offer these units commercially to other community stations that may also have this problem. The ACS- Automated Changeover Switch has been designed with community stations in mind. The units are easily installed, easy to use, and low cost.
